Class Levels

*Level Placement is based on a combination of skills and age. The listed age ranges are approximate.

Ages 3-5

TINY DANCERS


Classes incorporate the 3 main Dance By Mallory styles. The first half of class is spent learning technique from the selected style of the day. The second half of class is spent learning choreography to a routine choreographed by Dance By Mallory that features moves from the 3 styles:


  • Pom
  • Jazz
  • Hip Hop

Typically age 6 to age 8/9, or by instructor recommendation

BEGINNER


Beginner Pom:

Technique: intro to single turns, kicks, leg holds, jumps, leaps, etc.

Routines: Beginner level Pom choreography


Beginner Jazz:

Routines: Beginner level Jazz choreography. Techniques learned through routines include turns, kicks, leaps, etc.


Beginner Hip-Hop:

Technique: basic footwork, hip hop motions, etc.

Routines: Beginner level Hip Hop choreography

Typically age 8/9 to age 11/12, or by instructor recommendation

INTERMEDIATE


Intermediate Pom:

Technique: solid single turns and intro to double turns, kicks, leg holds, variety of jumps and leaps, etc.

Routines: Intermediate level Pom choreography


Intermediate Jazz:

Routines: Intermediate level Jazz choreography.

Techniques learned through routines include double turns, kicks, variety of leaps, etc.


Intermediate Hip-Hop:

Routines: Intermediate level Hip-Hop choreography

Techniques learned through routines include double turns, kicks, variety of leaps, etc.

Typically age 11/12 to age 18, or by instructor recommendation

ADVANCED


Advanced Pom:

Technique: solid double turns and intro to 3+ turns and fouettes, kicks, leg holds, complex jumps and leaps, etc.

Routines: Advanced level Pom choreography


Advanced Jazz:

Routines: Advanced level Jazz choreography.

Techniques learned through routines include complex turns, kicks, leaps, etc.


Advanced Hip-Hop:

Technique: footwork and complex tricks/stunts/tumbling, etc.

Routines: Advanced level Hip Hop choreography
